CNC Milling

Brannieke offers CNC machining services with fast turnaround time using three-axis orthogonal milling from six sides. We can machine any part with dimensions of up to 500 x 500 1000 mm. We can mill parts out of engineering grade metal or plastics with tolerances of 0.005 inch (approx. 0.125 mm) and with wall thickness of 0.5 mm. To learn more about this low-cost, rapid prototyping alternative to 3D printing and injection molding, please contact us!

Advantages of CNC Milling

  • Lower cost of production of parts compared to 3D printing
  • Instantaneous design changes using CAD/CAM toolpath software
  • No need for mold tooling complex tool design prior to production
  • Higher reproducibility of parts compared to 3D printing
  • Ability to CNC mill and turn both metals (aluminum) and plastics
  • High quality finish compared to 3D printed parts
  • 24-48 hour turn around time and $100-$2000 parts cost
Our CNC Capabilities

  • CNC Milling Envelope: 500 x 500 x 1000 mm
  • Maximum turning diameter – 2.95 inches (75 mm)
  • Minimum turning diameter – 0.16 inches (4 mm)
  • Hollowed out (bored) parts cannot have walls thinner than 1 mm
  • Sharp corners along walls will be filleted by approx. 0.5 mm
  • CNC milling will have a tolerance of between 0.005 (0.125 mm)
  • Parts can be CNC out of various plastics (ABS, PP, PMMA) and metals

CNC Milling Applications

CNC Milling can be used to prototype and manufacture a variety of automotive parts. Products that can be CNC machined out of metal or plastics include electronic packages and power module enclosures. Lighting modules, lighting fixtures, mold tooling. CNC turning can be used to mill a variety of cylindrical objects such as gears, camshafts, outlets. Furthermore, CNC milled products have superior mechanical properties compared to 3D printed products and is cheaper and less time consuming to mill compared to 3D printed components.
About CNC Turning

The CNC turning process is ideally suited for producing uniformly round, cylindrical or helically shaped metal objects. This process is similar to machining with traditional turning lathes, however the desired part is first modeled using CAD/CAM software. CNC Turning – CNC turned parts start out as cylindrical metal rods which are clamped into a rotating fixture prior to turning – CNC turned parts must therefore be uniform along the rotational axis in which it is clamped as the cutting tool will move in a linearly along the axis of rotation.
